Rotary Twin Club partnership event between Alexandroupolis Greece and Cetatea Tomis Constanța Romania

THESSALONIKI, January 31, 2026 – In a spirit of Rotary fellowship and high ideals, the official signing of the Twin Club Agreement between the Alexandroupolis Rotary Club and the Cetatea Tomis Constanta Rotary Club (Romania) took place.

The ceremony took place during the official Gala organized by District 2475 on Wednesday, January 31, 2026, in the presence of prominent members of the Rotary family, representatives of local government, and the leadership of the District.

Strengthening Cooperation and Friendship
This twinning is the culmination of the close relationship that has developed between the two clubs and is part of the strategy of the ICC Greece-Romania Intercountry Committee to strengthen cooperation between Greece and Romania.

The objectives of the “Twin Club” agreement are:

  • To undertake joint humanitarian actions that will benefit the local communities of the two cities.
  • Exchange cultural and social elements between members.
  • Promote mutual understanding and solidarity across borders.

This twinning has deep roots and powerful symbolism. Alexandroupolis and Constanta are two port hubs that traditionally linked the trade and cultures of the Northern Aegean and the Black Sea. Today, this historic bridge is taking on new life, as it now also unites the Rotarians of the two cities in their shared mission of service.

Through this timeless channel of communication, the two clubs are committed to transforming their cooperation into projects that will benefit local communities in Greece and Romania, proving that Rotary can unite people and traditions under the common vision of humanitarian action.
